Asbestos decontamination: coordination throughout the complete process

The removal of asbestos is very complex. This includes compulsory inventories, requests for permits and of course the decontamination itself. What could be better than an expert professional who is ready to assist you and takes the full coordination off your hands?

Removing asbestos, the process

Each situation requires a different approach, but we always go through the following steps in a structured process.

1. Inventory and material analysis

When demolishing and renovating buildings constructed before 1994, a compulsory asbestos inventory must be carried out. This inventory makes it clear whether or not asbestos is present in the building. For this, we work with a recognised SC-540 investigation agency.

2. Risk evaluation

If we find that asbestos is present, we will determine, together with the client and the investigation agency, which parts we will remove. It is discovered that there is an acute risk of asbestos contamination for local residents and the environment, an additional investigation (risk evaluation) will be carried out, which will indicate exactly what the risks are and how we can best handle these.

3. Checking of asbestos-inventory report

After this, we check whether the inventory report is complete, because only then can we begin decontamination.

4. Registration

Before we can begin the decontamination, a registration must be made to the relevant municipality, the certification institution and the Dutch Social Affairs and Employment Inspectorate. We will of course handle these registrations for you.

5. Conducting decontamination work

Once the registration is accepted, we can start decontamination. We will of course take all necessary safety measures into account during the decontamination.

6. Final check

Once the asbestos has been removed, we will ensure that a recognised laboratory carries out a final check. The laboratory will determine whether the decontaminated room is asbestos safe. Once the space has been cleared for use, you can enter it again without personal protection.

7. Transport and removal of material containing asbestos

We will then remove the material containing asbestos to a waste-processing company, of course completely in line with the applicable standards.

8. Deregistration

We will then arrange the deregistration with the relevant institutions and ensure that all necessary deregistration documents are submitted.

9. Possible coordination of building restoration

If building restoration is required, we can coordinate this for you, so that the building is restored fully in line with your wishes.
